Intensive Russian Attacks Eliminate Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital
During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.
Nine people were hurt while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and faced disruption to water supplies, per reports from city officials.
Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.
Moscow has increased attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.
"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a public message.
Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.
The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were working to repair systems.
A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.
Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by municipal representatives.
Local officials said the urban area came under significant strikes overnight. A minor was killed and several individuals were hurt.
The assaults come after nights of air raids in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.
The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to detect.
Government officials told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already impacting energy systems.
He said utility staff and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
