Automobiles in German Town Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report
Area Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.
Police state they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.
The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.
Officers then discovered numerous other smeared cars and house walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests suggest the liquid was probably blood from a person.
"There is still no indication as to its origin; officials are presently not informed of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they stated.
City officials stated they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the public for information.
A high-ranking political figure stated the vandalism rendered him without words and needed to be resolved rapidly.
"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he posted on a platform, referring to the murder of nine people by a gunman focusing on residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
